These are unprecedented and dangerous times for our democracy. It is difficult to keep the faith when every day damage is inflicted on individuals, our society and the world. Nevertheless, we must take heart as people resist and are not intimidated by threats from tyrants and would-be dictators. Fascists are being worn down by their unpopularity, and lies hidden in smoke and mirrors are dissipating.
